Ravi Varma Paintings

Here are some masterpiece painting work done by veteran painter Ravi Varma,

Samacheer Kalvi

First we need to understand the basic need of the education and commencement of the
matric system. After education-to-all system started by Kamaraj, one of the basic problem what govt facing is infrastructure development and its funds. So they stepped the rule to give licence to Private school but with main condition, it should be an non-profitable organization.

And one of the main difference with matric and the govt schools is the parental education. Most of the schools are asking the parents, "whether you are educated?" in the time of admisssion. This is somewhat horrible to here, that private firm are not ready to give education to student in first-generation level.

And too they are selecting only the student with higher academic marks. So whats the contribution of the school in teaching the student who is already good in academic. If they providing the same result by having diferent set of student, then i am ready to give hats-off to the private firm.

I am not telling entire mistake is with school-level only. Hence i faced one horrible incident once i went for the B.E admission to my relative's son in Satyabama university. After i entered the admission room they simply ask me what course you want and after checking some file he is telling for E&I current rate is 2 Lakhs.Please not it down i am not telling about the admission fees its a donation only. After that i asked did you provide any bill for donation? Shall i give the amount in Cheque format?. For all the question he simply replied no. Only cash is accepted and no more bills are provided.So finally i asked him that what is the proof in our side. He replied in different tone that its already 30 min over for you and so much people are
waiting outside.

I felt there is mistake in my side also, why we need to run behind these kind of rubbish Institution. Surely with these money-minded mentality they cannot provide the quality education. But still there are schools and colleges they are providing the education as a service. But the problem is there count is very low and started to decay over the period.

I really appreciate the "Samacheer Kalvi" and its principles. But in recent news i have heared that,"We are providing quality education thats why people are comming to us. And whatever syllabus prescribed by Samacheer Kalvi is very outdated". Above statement is told by one private school delegate, see how dare to releace these kind of statement.

As an indian citizen education is one of right similar to right-to-speak, right-to-ask etc. Since we are paying the Education Cess tax for most of the product we are using.

If they are going to predend that they are going to face loss with these new fees structure and Samacheer Kalvi. Better leave it to govt and go for some other bussiness. Since education is not a bussiness-playground.

Why POS Sitting inside the shops only?

Some 20 years back, we all relay on the banks for all money transaction. We stand on queue for long long time for withdrawing some negligible amount. So after the computer revolution in the banking sector, so much things have changed and like queue inside the bank are now become queue outside the ATM. And money transaction also become very easy using net-banking, mobile banking and POS.

In these, POS(Point Of Sale) is very much useful since straightly we are purchasing the product without any Hard-money transaction. And as we know POS will be available in shop and that is straightly linked with the shop's current account.

These POS will communicate with bank using the phone-line. One important thing we need to notice is, the evolution of the mobile industry for last 10 years.So why POS still sitting inside the shops and make themselves restricted to shop only.

As per the technology it is not too much difficult to implement wireless-technology in the POS. Once this will be implemented, we can reduce lot of hard-money transactions and circulation of black-money also reduced.

We are not too much away for the day, where we can carry single Debit-Card for purchasing a vegetable and have a drink in tea shop.

Diesel and Petrol

What are the main differences between diesel and petrol?

Conventional diesel and petrol are both produced from mineral oil, but using different refining methods. While diesel is in principle easier to refine than gasoline, it needs to be cleaned from more pollutants to ensure that tailpipe emissions remain as low as possible. However, diesel contains more energy than petrol and the vehicle’s engine combustion process is more efficient, adding up to higher fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions when using diesel.
Diesel versus petrol engines

By virtue of the combustion process and the overall engine concept, a diesel engine is more efficient than a spark-ignited petrol engine having the same power output when the engines are installed in a vehicle having a similar mass.

This results in the diesel having lower fuel consumption - a common margin is roughly 40% more km travelled for an efficient turbo-diesel engine. The calorific value of diesel fuel is roughly 45.5 MJ/kg (megajoules per kilogram), slightly lower than petrol which is 45.8 MJ/kg. However, diesel fuel is denser than petrol and contains about 15% more energy by volume (roughly 36.9 MJ/litre compared to 33.7 MJ/litre). Accounting for the difference in energy density, the overall efficiency of the diesel engine is still some 20% greater than the petrol engine, despite the diesel engine also being heavier.

Of course, there are many developments in technology for both the diesel and petrol engine that have been introduced to improve efficiency, fuel consumption and performance and technology such as HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) which will be introduced in both petrol and diesel engines in the short-term to help improve overall efficiency and to reduce CO2 emissions.

Note: 1kg of diesel burnt under ideal conditions will produce 2.68kg of CO2. 1kg of petrol burnt under ideal conditions will produce 2.3kg of CO2

Petrol versus diesel: refinery processing
Crude oil contains hundreds of different types of hydrocarbons all mixed together and, depending on the source of the crude oil, different impurities. In order to produce petrol, diesel or any other oil-based products, the hydrocarbons have to be separated, by refining of one type or another:

Different hydrocarbon chain lengths all have progressively higher boiling points, so they can all be separated by a process known as distillation. In a refinery, in one part of the process, crude oil is heated and the different hydrocarbon chains are pulled out as a vapour according to their vaporisation temperatures and then recondensed. For example:

Petrol - motor fuel:

* Liquid
* mix of alkanes and cycloalkanes (5 to 12 carbon atoms)
* boiling range = 40°C to 205°C

Gas oil or Diesel - motor fuel:

* Liquid
* alkanes containing 12 or more carbon atoms
* boiling range = 250°C to 350°C

Kerosene - fuel for jet engines:

* Liquid
* mix of alkanes (10 to 18 carbons) and aromatics
* boiling range = 175°C to 325°C

Of course, after distillation, there are various techniques that are used to convert some fractions to others:

* cracking, which breaking large hydrocarbon chains into smaller ones
* unification – which combines smaller hydrocarbon chains to make larger ones
* alteration – which re-arranges various pieces to make desired hydrocarbons

For example, this allows a refinery to turn diesel fuel into petrol fuel, depending on the demand for petrol. Refineries will also combine various fractions (processed, unprocessed) into mixtures to make desired products. For example, different mixtures of hydrocarbon chains can create petrol with different octane ratings.

Distillated and chemically processed fractions are treated to remove impurities, such as organic compounds containing sulphur, nitrogen, oxygen, water, dissolved metals and inorganic salts.
